AG Visits New Chinsali Audit Office Under Construction, Urges Timely Completion
Acting Auditor General, Dr. Ron Mwambwa has visited the construction site of the new Chinsali Audit Office, currently being built by Zamchin Limited.
The AG took the opportunity to urge the contractor to ensure that the works are completed within the stipulated contract period, which is set for June 2025.
Dr. Mwambwa emphasised the importance of the contractor staying on track to avoid cost escalations and the need to go through laborious tender procedures for an addendum.
Currently, staff at the Chinsali Audit Office are cramped into a small rented space, which is affecting their work.
The AG’s visit underscores his commitment to improving working conditions for staff and ensuring the timely completion of this important project.
The construction project was re-awarded to Zamchin Limited after the previous contractor’s contract was terminated.
Dr. Mwambwa expressed confidence that the new office will significantly enhance the efficiency of the audit office and improve the overall working environment.
