Today, the Office of the Auditor General (OAG) had the privilege of hosting an AFRITAC South International Monetary Fund (IMF) Mission as part of ongoing efforts to support the development of a robust Government Asset Management Policy.
The mission, comprising Mr. Amitabh Tripathi and Mr. Mariano D’Amore, engaged with the OAG on key issues relating to the accounting, reporting, and management of public assets. The discussions focused on strengthening public financial management, enhancing transparency and accountability, and promoting the adoption of sound asset management practices.
Effective accounting and reporting of public assets are essential for safeguarding national resources, improving decision making, and ensuring value for money in the delivery of public services.
