Acting Auditor General, Ms. Patricia Malaila, has officially opened the Office of the Auditor General’s 2027 budgeting process.
Ms. Malaila directed staff to ensure that the 2027 budget is strategically aligned to how the Office can continue to add value to government programmes key among them the Grow Zambia Agenda, while strengthening institutional resilience, efficiency and the delivery of quality audit services.
She emphasised the need for the Office to remain resilient and responsive in executing its mandate of promoting transparency and accountability in the management of public resources.
Meanwhile, Deputy Auditor General – Corporate Services and Specialised Audits, Mrs. Stella Nyonda, encouraged all staff to actively participate in the budgeting process and come up with realistic and well-aligned budgets that reflect the Office’s and national strategic priorities.
